Next Generation Leaders Fellowship
Our signature program, the Next Generation Leaders Fellowship or “NGLF” is a unique 9-week summer fellowship designed to empower college students to be leaders— in the anti-campus sexual violence movement and beyond— by providing them with training and experience in advanced civic engagement.
Our fellowship equips students with the skills and knowledge needed for movement building, grassroots organizing, and legislative advocacy. By the end of summer, fellows will have gained experience in:
-
1) Writing legislation to be filed in upcoming state legislative sessions that meet the needs of students in your state
-
2) Forging relationships and mentorships with state legislators and community advocates
-
3) Building a movement of student supporters and activists to engage in advocacy
-
4) Gaining media skills including using social media, earned media, and written media for advocacy
-
5) Practicing the basics of grant writing and grassroots fundraising

Yardena, 2022 NGLF Fellow
“...This fellowship taught me not only the ins and outs of bill writing, legislation research, community partner outreach, and student organizing, but also when to make space and take up space, how to compassionately care for yourself and others, and what it means to integrate community building into every aspect of this work…..[T]his fellowship gave me a chance to step outside my comfort zone and be brave, and I know that I am better for it.”
Anabelle, 2022 NGLF Fellow
“The fellowship created a space where I truly felt like I could evolve as a leader in whatever way I envisioned it and had the capacity for. I gained invaluable skills that will support me in how I show up to organizing and advocacy spaces and any other life endeavors. So much gratitude to all of the people who made this opportunity for growth, learning, and collaboration possible!”
